Green things grow. My mind meld based on years of experience is to accept that. London Man’s approach is to do a few hours a week to sort out issues then a a few hours a month to keep things in check. Obviously it all stops over the winter.
That approach means you always know what the fee is and you can pause at any time.
Properties constantly need a bit of tic. It might be a dripping tap, a bulb that’s gone, dimmer switches that don’t dim anymore! Whatever, lots of little things add up. What I recommend is to put a list together of the various things that need doing so that they can all be done at once.

Thing about decorating is you want a job done. So now we’re talking estimates for say painting a room. But there’s a difference between an estimate and a quote, a quote means it’s fixed, an estimate means if there are unthought of problems the amount may go up just because there are more hours involved.

We give estimates on the type of work you want done which means they can change if the work becomes more complicated or new issues arise*.
RATES
Standard rate: £20ph
Standard rate with vehicle: £25 (this is applied if for example garden waste needs to be removed as part of the job)
Minimum call out fee (1.5 hours): £30
SURCHARGES
Additional work member: £20ph (if the work needs more than one person)
Disposal of garden waste, recyclable material etc: £30 (government charges for disposing of recyclable waste/materials)
Picking up of materials needed for a specific job, from a single location (say a workers warehouse such as Selco, Wickes, or Screwfix): £20
Research and online prebuying of materials for a job: £20
*As a rough guide if it becomes necessary to re-estimate it’s rarely more than a 10% increase and you will be informed as the work progresses.

Liming Waxing Worksurfaces in Chingford NE London

BREAKDOWN:
This amazing renovation took just two and a half hours and included not only the area shown but all of the oak surfaces in the kitchen.
Liming is a specialist renovation process, it involves sanding down the surfaces, cleaning them thoroughly and then treating them to give that high end appearance.
In this case not just lime waxing was recommended by also clear waxing of the surfaces after to stop the moisture based scaring of the surfaces which caused the unattractive look of the surfaces in the first place.
End result is that oak work surfaces with original installation value of over £800 do not have to be replaced but are restored to their former glory at a fraction of the cost.
